The Highway Shaman – August 1, 2020
SHAMAN WISDOM
Today I decided to do something different. I have no idea what the “different” will be. I’ve done the three card tarot readings in this blog for 93 straight days, and thirty previous days in my notebook – 133 days without a day off. It’s become a habit. I wasn’t going to pull a card today, but habitually did – the Elements card CHANGE NEEDED. 93 days is three months of posting blogs, with not one person responding on my blog page. No feedback. So the Change Need card says it’s an unresolvable situation I’ve put myself into and I need to re-evaluate my desire and direction. I thought I was doing this to help others, but so far my readings have obviously been personal inner work. It’s been one year since I had my brain injury and I suppose it’s taken this long to heal my brain, mind and spirit with Self Help.
I decided on April 1st to pull a card from three decks everyday. Today I’m deciding on just one deck. My preference would be from the Osho Zen Tarot, since its advice seems more universal than personal. Like the card I’m about to pull is not just for me but for you and everyone who would read it. – individual, communal and collective. The card I just pulled made total sense – LETTING GO. It says, To choose this card is a recognition that something is finished, something is completing. Whatever it is – it is the time to let go of it, allowing any sadness but not trying to hold on. Something great is awaiting you, new dimensions are there to be discovered. You are past the point of return now, and gravity is doing its work. Go with it – it represents liberation.
I did feel sadness, so I’m still not totally letting go. I asked the Good Tarot for some advice. The EIGHT OF FIRE says I’m gathering momentum, celebrating swift changes with my transformation. “Momentum is building as the power of Spirit serves to power this transformation. I am traveling to new territories and I am eager to experience all that these lands have to offer. I have arrived at my destination and now the adventure of discovery is energizing me.”
I still haven’t come up with what the change will be. I’ll let go and see what comes up. Learn Spanish. This would not only be good for me but whoever reads this. I will start with “What is this called in Spanish?” Como se llama esto en espanol?
I just realized that for all these months I’ve been working on the Spirit or Soul. Learning Spanish is for the mind. Education. What about the body? Health and nutrition. I need to start with something which comes to mind. Because of my resistance to change and letting go, I’ve been experiencing a mild depression and the need to sleep for more hours – the lack of energy. The word maca popped into my mind. What is maca?
Lepidium meyenii, known as maca or Peruvian ginseng, is an edible herbaceous biennial plant of the family Brassicaceae that is native to South America in the high Andes mountains of Peru. Medicinal uses of maca –
- Increasing libido.
- Reducing erectile dysfunction.
- Boosting energy and endurance.
- Increasing fertility.
- Improving mood.
- Reducing blood pressure.
- Reducing sun damage.
- Fighting free radicals.
Now I need to figure out how to get some.

Osho Zen Tarot – 8 of Water – LETTING GO
In existence there is nobody who is superior and nobody who is inferior. The blade of grass and the great star are equal. But man wants to be higher than others, he wants to conquer nature, hence he has to fight continuously. All complexity arises out of this fight. The innocent person is one who has renounced fighting, who is no longer interested in being higher, who is no longer interested in performing, in proving that he is someone special, who has become like the rose flower or like a dewdrop on the lotus leaf, who has become part of this infinity, who has melted, merged and become one with the ocean and is just a wave, who has no idea of the “I”. The disappearance of the “I” is innocence.
To choose this card is a recognition that something is finished, something is completing. Whatever it is – it is the time to let go of it, allowing any sadness but not trying to hold on. Something great is awaiting you, new dimensions are there to be discovered. You are past the point of return now, and gravity is doing its work. Go with it – it represents liberation.
