Shaman Wisdom #67

The Highway Shaman Wisdom Reading

for July 5, 2020

I’m most intrigued that I got the card STRUCTURE today. From all indications my workings on the physical plane are fine. I’m safe and secure in my structured environment, and quite disciplined. And at the same time, I feel as if I’m falling apart, being re-calibrated on to a Higher Vibration, to Higher Plane of Consciousness. My body is currently purging out the old and recalibrating to a much Higher Frequency. For the past two days, physically, this has shown up as diarrhea and the need to sleep off and on all during the day. Today I wrote a long discourse about not identifying politically with the Right or the Left, with less interest being an Observer; less interest in Third Dimension Ego play. My work is with the Spirit Guides, these readings, which help me to identify with Fifth Dimensional Reality. That is; the reality of Love, Compassion, Understanding, Gratitude, Humility, Strength, Wise Action, Creativity and Heart-felt CELEBRATION. I wish to make myself more available and open to the many opportunities there are to celebrate life, and to spread this by contagion to others. The PAGE OF AIR tells me to relax into my new Calibration, to celebrate the birthing of new ideas on how to thrive here on earth, open to the theory of living simultaneously in both the 3D and 5D Dimensions, even though not yet proven; to remain curious, present in this precious moment, with a new focus on THE BEST IS YET TO COME.

THE READING

The Elements Tarot:  STRUCTURE:

Consistency and workings of the physical plane. Physical laws. Continuity, discipline. Need for structured environment.

REVERSED: Contracts. Agreements.

Osho Zen Tarot: 3 of Water – CELEBRATION

Life is a moment to moment to celebrate, to enjoy. Make it fun, a celebration, and then you will enter the temple. The temple is not for the long-faced, it has never been for them. Look at life – do you see sadness anywhere? Have you ever seen a tree depressed? Have you seen a bird anxiety-ridden? Have you seen an animal neurotic? No, life is not like that, not at all. Only man has gone wrong somewhere, and he has gone wrong somewhere because he thinks himself to be very wise, very clever. Your cleverness is your disease. Don’t be too wise. Always remember to stop; don’t go to the extreme. A little foolishness and a little wisdom is good, and the right combination makes you a buddha.

“When you choose this card, it indicates that you are becoming more and more available and open to the many opportunities that are to celebrate life, and to spread this by contagion to others. Don’t bother about  scheduling a party on your calendar. Ley your hair down, take your shoes off, and start splashing in the puddles right now. The party is happening all around you every moment!”

The Good Tarot: PAGE OF AIR – New ideas, a theory not yet proven, curiosity, new focus.

“This calls for greater investigation, as we’ve only scratched the surface. I don’t really know. That’s interesting. If I explore this way of thinking, what can I learn?“

The Highway Shaman Wisdom Reading

for July 4, 2020

I’ve missed most 4th of July celebrations because for most of my life I’ve been in denial about being a son of the USA. Nationalism made no sense to a cosmic being, such as myself. Now in my later years I respect and admire all that the USA, as a concept, stands for. I do want liberty and justice for all. In my MATURITY I’m allowing into my life the INTEGRATION of ALL possibilities. I am ready to be the KING OF EARTH, to allow into my being all the Spiritual and Material abundance I’ve earned and so deserve. I can also observe all the battles which are taking place on the 3D vibrational frequency, and bless it all, whatever will be, while praying for goodness and light, love and understanding from my 5D vibrational perspective. If I were to allow for my MATURITY; the thought that I am the Buddha completely blossomed, fully opened, then I have no doubt this moment carries a gift – for all my hard work well done. My base is solid now and success and good fortune, THE KING OF EARTH, are mine for it is the outcome of what I have already experienced within.”

THE READING

The Elements Tarot:  INTEGRATION:

Consolidating experiences and revelations within the conscious mind. Bringing together and synthesizing all elements at work in your life.

REVERSED: Contentment with what you have and who you are. Satisfaction, thankfulness.

Osho Zen Tarot: Ace of Rainbows –  MATURITY

The distinction between the grasses and the blossoms is the same as between you not knowing that you are a buddha, and the moment you know that you are a buddha. In fact, there is no way to be otherwise. Buddha is completely blossomed, fully opened. His lotuses, his petals, have come to a completion . . . Certainly, to be full of spring yourself. Is far more beautiful than the autumn dews falling on the lotus leaves. This is one of the most beautiful things to watch: when autumn dews fall on the lotus leaves and shine in the morning sun like real pearls. But of course, it is a momentary experience. As the sun rises, the autumn dews start evaporating.

The temporary beauty cannot be compared, certainly, with an eternal spring in your being. You look back as far as you can and it has always been there. You look forward as much as you can, and you will be surprised: it is your very being. Wherever you are it will be there, and the flowers will continue to shower on you. This is spiritual spring.

“When you draw this card, know well this moment carries a gift – for hard work well done. Your base is solid now and success and good fortune are yours for they are the outcome of what has already been experienced within.”

The Good Tarot: KING OF EARTH – Enterprising, philanthropy, ability to attract abundant wealth, magnanimous, conscious manifesting, a reliable leader.

“I have trust and faith in the invisible and know it will manifest in the realm of form, the way I need it to. Opportunity can be found anywhere and everywhere. Because I am competent and committed, I am ready for abundance to manifest now in the world of conditions, in a form that is aligned with my highest good. I manifest all that I desire, consciously aware of the need to stay focused and grounded in the everyday work required.”

The Highway Shaman Wisdom Reading

for July 3, 2020

For my entire life, I’ve been a critical thinker. The negative term to those who don’t understand the beauty of research, digging deeper, finding hidden truths, is “conspiracy theorist.” I never thought this dumb label was true for me. At sixteen, the angle trajectory of a bullet fired from a distant warehouse, hitting the target on the horizontal bullseye,  in a moving vehicle, was all wrong. It was an impossible perfect shot. It wasn’t the truth. The coverup lies shocked my innocent young mind. Since then, for 57 years, I have never stopped digging deeper. There is so much I know of the current events in the US right now. So many lies. So many coverups. But I censor my WORDS. Why? I think NO-NOTHINGNESS answers it for me. What I discover, uncover, means everything and it means nothing. I don’t want to be caught up in the dimensional “gap;” giving energy to a reality I’m evolving away from. If I express a side, then I manifest as a warrior in a 3D ego driven battle. PAGE OF AIR says to create a different theory; go even farther in my investigation. Such as “How does the work I do in the Fifth Dimension of Higher Consciousness affect the battle that is taking place in the 3rd Dimension of Ego?”

THE READING

The Elements Tarot: WORDS: Communication. Transmitting and receiving information through speech, symbols, writing or music.

REVERSED: With holding communication for fear of being intimidated or invalidated.

Osho Zen Tarot: NO-THINGNESS (The Hierophant):

Buddha has chosen one of the really very potential words – shunyata. The English word, the English equivalent, “nothingness,” is not such a beautiful word. That’s why I would like to make it ‘no-thingness’ – because the nothing is not just nothing, it is all. It is vibrant with all possibilities. It is potential, absolute potential. It is unmanifest yet, but it contains all. In the beginning is nature, in the end is nature, so why in the middle, becoming so worried, so anxious, so ambitious – why create such despair?

Nothingness to nothingness is the whole journey.

“Being ‘in the gap’ can be disorienting and even scary. Nothing to hold on to, no sense of direction, not even a hint of what choices and possibilities might be ahead. But it was just this of potential that existed before the universe was created. All you can do now is relax into the nothingness . . . fall into this silence between the words . . . watch their gap between the outgoing and incoming breath. And treasure each empty moment of the experience. Something sacred is about to be born.”

The Good Tarot:  PAGE OF AIR – New ideas, a theory not yet proven, curiosity, new focus.

“This calls for greater investigation, as we’ve only scratched the surface. I don’t really know. That’s interesting. If I explore this way of thinking, what can I learn?“

The meditator by Dakan – never know when the coconut will wake you up.

On the right are his two ever-present Spirit Guides. The Master is a Pig. Usually for a man its a woman who agitates the awakening. Bunny and puppy represents our inate innocence, which is needed for enlightenment to occur. Serenity and balance.

The Highway Shaman Wisdom Reading

for July 2, 2020

These daily readings are all about reminding myself and the reader of the importance of our Spirit Guides; to go within and listen to your inner GUIDANCE. The reading says, “when this card appears it means you can trust the inner guidance you are being given.”

Many years ago I was a black belt student of Aikido, training under a very well respected living master. He was the Father of Aikido in Russia, with 27 dojos. I was at his home dojo. Nobody could touch him. His ki energy could stop you in your tracks. One of the teachings of Aikido is that you can be a master, but you are always a STUDENT. You must learn to move gracefully in the face of all attacks, not only physically, which all sensei’s emphasize, but also emotionally, mentally and spiritually.  That was my emphasis, and still is. One day this living master was proudly showing off a kanji scroll. He said it belonged to O’Sensei, the beloved Father of Aikido. I asked, “Where in the hell did you get it?” His anger surfaced. He quickly rolled up the scroll and huffed out. He wouldn’t speak to me for days. He had mastered the physical, but not his mind and emotions. Where no student could put him down on the mat, I defeated him with one simple sentence. It didn’t matter if I was rude or disrespectful. He could have easily said he bought it a Pier One Imports, and everyone would have laughed.  If he had tapped into the QUEEN OF WATER he wouldn’t have been offended by my words, because he would be confident that his relationship with me and others reflected his security in knowing he was always worthy of love and respect.

By the way, all stories are worthwhile. If he would have stopped and said he received it in a ceremony in his honor in Japan, it would have been an appreciatied story. If he went on about how he snuck like a ninja into a dojo in Japan and stole it, also a good story. And if he had found it at a garage sale and bought it for $10, it would have made a great laugh. Every way he would have won, except for his show of anger.

THE READING

The Elements Tarot: THE STUDENT:

Eagerness to learn. Avidly seeking knowledge. Desire for growth.

REVERSED: Developing the mind. Study, research,

Osho Zen Tarot: 3 of Rainbows – GUIDANCE:

You have to look for guidance because you don’t know your inner guidance is hidden inside you. You have to find the inner guide, and that’s what I call your witness. That’s what I call your dharma, that’s what I call your intrinsic buddha. You have to awaken that buddha and your life will shower with blessings, benediction. Your life will become so radiant with good, with godliness, more than you can possibly conceive.

“The truth of your own deepest being is trying to show you where to go right now, and when this card appears it means you can trust the inner guidance you are being given. It speaks in whispers, and sometimes we can hesitate, not knowing if we have understood rightly. But the indications are clear: in following the inner guide you will feel more whole, more integrated, as if you are moving outwards from the very center of your being. If you go with it, this beam of light will carry you exactly where you need to go.”

The Good Tarot: QUEEN OF WATER   compassion, emotional security, generosity, self-love and self-care, healer.

“I am comfortable in my own skin. I love, cherish and nurture myself. I am the best friend to myself. My relationship with others reflect my security in knowing I am always worthy of love and respect. I heal myself so I can be the change I want to see in the world and so my compassion can inspire others.”

The Highway Shaman Wisdom Reading

for July 1, 2020

I find it quite interesting that I got SPIRITUAL DIMENSIONS  in reverse, two days ago. A friend sent me a video about multi-dimensions but it didn’t load up. Tomorrow. Until then I guess I’m still running on unused capacity for channeling. The inner world is fascinating. It’s also notable that the CREATIVITY card offers “a reminder to seek silence and centering within. Only then are we able to hear our truth.” And the EIGHT OF WATER telling me that I’m on a journey of discovery, letting go and seeking a deeper meaning and greater authenticity, beyond superficiality. I’m being asked to be even more Authentic. I go back and forth on whether or not to expose the Highway Shaman, to get these blogs out there on social network. But I also get that that is not my path. Maybe a new path will be shown soon.

THE READING

The Elements Tarot:

SPIRITUAL DIMENSIONS: Inner planes. Experience of other dimensions. Channeling. Communication with higher forces. Psychic powers.

REVERSED: Unattentiveness to spiritual guidance and influences. Not listening to the inner voice. Unused capacity for channeling.

Osho Zen Tarot: CREATIVITY (The Empress)

If you have found the truth within yourself there is nothing more in the whole existence to find. When you are cured, you throw away the meditation, you throw away the medicine. Then you live as truth – alive, radiant, contented, blissful, a song unto yourself. Your whole life becomes a prayer without any words, or better to say a playfulness, a grace, a beauty which does not belong to our mundane world, a ray of light coming from the beyond into the darkness of our world.

“There are times in our lives when too many voices seem to be pulling us this way and that. Our very confusion in such situations is a reminder to seek silence and centering within. Only then are we able to hear our truth.”

The Good Tarot: EIGHT OF WATER – Journey of discovery, letting go and seeking a deeper meaning and greater authenticity, beyond superficiality.

“All that glitters isn’t gold, and I know that I always deserve authentic riches, the gold that fills me with joy, abundance and understanding. I fearlessly pause to reexamine where I have been, where I am, and where I might go. Now I consciously choose the path that is right for me instead of the one that seems likely to draw  me into it – or the one I think I ought to walk. I am true to my heart. I’ve come as far as I can, and I leave by the wayside the last vestiges of illusion, the last bits of fear and shame. I will no longer hold on to what isn’t right for me.”

THE LORD’S PRAYER

Great Spirit, whose teepee is in the sky

and whose hunting ground is the earth.

Mighty and Fearful are you called.

Ruler over storms, over men and birds and beasts

have your way over all –

Find us this day our meat and corn

that we may be strong and brave.

And put aside from us our wicked ways

as we put aside the bad works of them

who do us wrong.

And let us not have such troubles

as lead us into crooked roads,

but keep us from all evil.

For yours is all that is

The earth and the sky, the streams, the hills

and the valleys, the stars, the moon, and the sun

and all that live and breathe.

The Highway Shaman Wisdom Reading

for June 30, 2020

In the course of my life, I’ve never had much money. Altruistically minded as I am, I always imagined that if I did possess an abundance of money, RICHES, I would be SHARING it to help others. My overriding goal in life was to be a philanthropist. As I’ve aged I see people who are “needy” and others who are what the NINE of EARTH calls “disciplined self-reliant.” At some point, I transitioned from “needy” to “respectfully self-reliant.” Although I’m technically living below the poverty level, that’s not where my consciousness lies. I live in Abundance. And, coming soon, my conditions are favorable to acquire Riches. Unlike what I may have done when needy, I will only use money as Spirit guides me, and help those who are self-reliant; who have a good plan for their life. My heart no longer bleeds for someone in need. In my meditation, I have accessed my third chakra, my Power center. Whereas before I may have misused it for ego gratification, to prove I am good and generous, I now have no need to prove the extent and value of my love. The SHARING of my RICHES will come from the NINE (completion) of EARTH (grounding); only from my allocated reliable resources, with restraint and self-control. I will stick to a grounded sharing of benevolence, trusting that the plan of my life is unfolding before me exactly as Spirit intended.

THE READING

The Elements Tarot: RICHES:

Wealth, financial abundance. Favorable conditions.

REVERSED: Physical lack due to mental limitations. Poverty consciousness.

Osho Zen Tarot: Queen of Fire – SHARING:

As you move above to the fourth center – that is the heart – your whole life becomes a sharing of love. The third center has created the abundance of love. By reaching to the third center in meditation, you have become so overflowing with love, with compassion, and you want to share. It happens at the fourth center – the heart. That’s why even in the ordinary world people think love comes out of the heart. For them it is just hearsay, they have heard it, they don’t know it because they have never reached to their heart. As he has reached to the center of his being – the third center – suddenly an explosion of love and compassion and joy and blissfulness and benediction has arisen in him with such a force that it hits his heart and opens the heart. The heart is just in the middle of all your seven centers – three centers below, three centers above. You have come exactly to the middle.

“There is no need to go anywhere or make any special effort. You find you can enjoy sensuality without possessiveness or attachment, can give birth to a child or to a new project with an equal sense of creativity fulfilled. Everything around you seems to be ‘coming ‘together’ now. Enjoy it, ground yourself in it, and let the abundance in you and around you overflow.”

The Good Tarot:  NINE OF EARTH  Disciplined self-reliance, reliable resources, restraint and self-control, the final stone placed in the foundation.

“I know I can rely on myself and Spirit. There are many tools at my disposal, and I use my resources wisely, solidifying the foundation of my security in the material world. I am diligent and disciplined, focused on completing the work I began long ago. I stick to my program, trusting that the plan is unfolding before me exactly as Spirit intended.“

POWER TOOLS

Throughout the millennia the shaman has used an assortment of power tools to help people stay mentally, emotionally and physically healthy.; to balance their body, mind and spirit. Among the tools were feathers, bones, and precious stones, herbs and potions, powders and spices, smoke and sweat lodges, meditations, mudra’s and tangka’s, psychedelics and hallucinogens, chants and other ways of opening the mind and heart.

I use these card readings and connect with Spirit directly. Over the decades of my life, I found myself being sucked into one false idea (on how to function in the world) after the other. He are some simple ways to be Authentic, to trust being Your Self.

1. Stop being a weenie . . .  OK – let me define weenie. It’s a person who plays it safe. Caught in their comfort zone, they’re afraid to take risks, afraid to make mistakes, afraid to fail or fuck up. A weenie is a self-centered person Full of stupid excuses.

To stop being weak, make a new decision about Owning Your Power.

2. Fear no man (or woman). Humans by design are full of flaws. We’re born to self-improve. Life is a process of constant self-adjustment. When someone thinks they’re above you, and professes/acts like their shit don’t stink, then that should be your clue; Walk Away.

Stop being a follower, Love and Honor Yourself.

3. Be Self Reliant; be your own corporation, institution, religion or place of higher learning. Get off the lobotomy treadmill. Take the Red Pill. Become enlightened

Never let anyone or any philosophy control your Happiness and Freedom.

4. Stay away from stupid people. Choose your friends and acquaintances wisely. If you are “owning your power,” “loving and honoring yourself,” “happy and free;” a creative person in any way, then anyone who doesn’t think you’re fucking awesome, is stupid.

Be with people who love and praise you. Be Who You Are.

5. Love yourself. Most of all: Love yourself! When you are full of Self love, you naturally correctly take care of business. You do good things for yourself, and good things for the people you spread your love to. People full of love are fucking powerful.

Never stop Loving Yourself

Glazed Buddha by Dakan

The Highway Shaman Wisdom Reading

for June 29, 2020

I’ve been doing these Spirit Guide readings for 40 years. Today is the 61st time I’ve done this blog with the three different decks together. I’m still blown away with the clarity of the daily readings. In my meditation this morning, I was thinking of the multi-Dimensions of Reality. Later, I checked my email and a friend sent a link re. entering portals to explore other dimensions of reality. (Billy Carson). It came to me that the 3rd dimension represents the “current ego.” The 4th is the “past ego.” And the 5th dimension represents “beyond ego” possibilities; the what’s out there that our 3D ego “I know” mind can’t see or comprehend. Then I got to thinking about my “inner realm” work and if it’s possible for me to go beyond what I think is humanly possible. I drew the card SPIRITUAL DIMENSIONS, but reversed, telling me, of course, if I listen to my inner voice. Our multi-dimensional Spirit Guides are always here to help.. I’ve learned how to communicate with my Spirit Guides, and know I need to ask, what’s next? I drew the card POSSIBILITIES, which told me to not be content, that all possibilities are open to me; and to you. Then the EIGHT OF EARTH, which just popped out of the deck, told me that even masters of their craft have more to learn, and to eagerly embrace the opportunity to go deeper, develop a greater understanding, and find new ways to apply what I/we know. I’m excited about the new to me Possibilities in the Spiritual Dimensions; in gaining knowledge, learning and employing a new multi-dimensional craft or skill.

THE READING

The Elements Tarot:  SPIRITUAL DIMENSIONS:

Inner planes. Experience of other dimensions. Channeling. Communication with higher forces. Psychic powers.

REVERSED: Unattentiveness to spiritual guidance and influences. Not listening to the inner voice. Unused capacity for channeling.

Osho Zen Tarot: 2 of Fire – POSSIBILITIES

Don’t be content easily. Those who remain content easily remain small: small are their joys, small are their ecstasies, small are their silences, small is their being. But there is no need! This smallness is your own imposition upon your freedom, upon your unlimited possibilities, upon your unlimited potential.

“This card indicates that you are at a point where the world of possibilities is open to you. Because you have grown more loving toward yourself, more self-contained, you can work easily with others. Because you are relaxed and at ease, you can recognize possibilities as they present themselves, sometime even before others can see them. Because you are in tune with your own nature, you can understand that existence is providing you with exactly what you need. Enjoy the flight! And celebrate all the varied wonders of the landscape spread before you.”

The Good Tarot: EIGHT OF EARTH – Apprenticeship, gaining knowledge, learning and employing a new craft or skill.

Even masters of their craft have more to learn, and I eagerly embrace the opportunity to go deeper, develop a greater understanding, and find new ways to apply what I know. I acknowledge all I have learned and accomplished, the skills I have developed, and the goals I have reached. Now is the time to find new ways to apply what I know, to enhance my expertise. My beginner’s awkwardness has melted away, and I know what I am doing now. I have the confidence to become more intimate with the work in all areas of my life.”

WHERE TO BEGIN IN SELF-EXPLORATION

My life began as a Catholic, and then I studied  all the religions. In my early 20’s I started learning about Astrology, and later studied Human Design and Gene Keys. I also worked with the I Ching and Runes, and of course the Tarot. Shaman studies made me realize that I’m a Multi-dimensional Man.

I think our lives are way too complicated to leave it to chance. If we don’t use any of the many “know yourself” tools, then those tricksters with their vast arsenal of mind programmings, will take charge. They’ll make it so you’ll never really know yourself; your Authentic Self. When you finally realize how your mind has been programmed, you’ll need a make-over. Thus begins your Journey of Self-Realization.

Probably everyone knows their astrological sign. But what does it really mean? I was born on January 30, 1947 at 7:02 am in Springfield, Virginia. What can I discover from my date, time and place of birth. Loads.

I won’t go into a whole astrological reading, but I’m an Aquarius. A double Aquarius, with Aquarius rising, born at the dawning of the Age of Aquarius; the beginning of 5th Dimensional consciousness.

“When peace will guide the planets and Love will steer the stars.”

Here is what it says about Aquarius rising: you have a clearer sense of individuality by stepping back and learning to look at life from an objective position. Such a detached perspective allows for a clear and logical assessment of the situations around you.

My Sun, Mercury and Mars are clumped together in the 1st house. You can read me like a book. I choose my own way in life, both mentally and energetically, and instead of relying on family, I forge my own place in the sun. So apparently I was born to be independent.

Then Human Design makes it clear that I’m to do ‘inner word” for the “collective.” Being a creator – my writing and art is a gift to humanity.

Chinese Astrology says that I like to explore new ideas and will succeed given the right support; that I can find great happiness.

Numerology says with my birth on the 30th I have a highly developed talent for creativity. I’m an artist at heart. I could excel in writing, visual or performing arts. If I’m not professionally involved in one of these areas, I should consider taking up art as a hobby.

That’s interesting since for most of my life I was a working professional ceramic artist, and for the past 18 years I’ve been writing books.

My birth numbers add up to Seven. The number 7 is the seeker, the thinker, the searcher of Truth. The 7 doesn’t take anything at face value — it is always trying to understand the underlying, hidden truths. The 7 knows that nothing is exactly as it seems and that reality is often hidden behind illusions. Hmmm.

Consider what this essay, my blogs, are all about.

In the Tarot the 7 is the Chariot. The Chariot is the knight who leaves the castle for long periods of time, then returns to tell the people tales of the world out there. In real life I’m a world traveler, having lived in Thailand for over seven years, and now in Mexico, writing a blog, mostly about self exploration, everyday.

All this self-information is readily available. Google yourself and learn more about the unique and amazing being your are.

Shaman Wisdom #60

The Highway Shaman Wisdom Reading

for June 28, 2020

It’s Sunday morning. I woke up in gratitude for my many blessings. I’m not one to go to church, and yet I was experiencing prayer, the presence of CHRIST in my life. It was quite  appropriate that I drew this card. Words like forgiveness and the Ho’oponopono prayer came up (I write about it below).  I looked up a Native American prayer which I include in place of my art today. As I sat in meditation I heard the roar of the ocean shore breaks. It was a call to go immediately to the ocean, to answer the call of the THREE OF WATER. I had pulled the card before I went, and I had been thinking its about time I meet people, be in community. This was my first morning walk to the ocean in three months. A man suddenly appeared next to me, on the otherwise empty beach. We had a pleasant conversation and found he does healing work. I felt our meeting wasn’t accidental, that we a part of all EXISTENCE, here to love and serve,

THE READING

The Elements Tarot: CHRIST:

Selfless service from a context of truth and dispassion. Forgiveness. Presence of Christ. Humility.

REVERSED: Unwillingness to accept negative aspects in oneself.

Osho Zen Tarot: EXISTENCE  (The Magician) –

You are not accidental. Existence needs you. Without you something will be missing in existence and nobody can replace it.  That’s what gives you dignity, that the whole of existence will miss you. The stars and sun and moon, the trees, birds and earth – everything in the universe will feel a small place is vacant which cannot be filled by anybody except you. This gives you a tremendous joy, a fulfillment that you are related to existence, and existence cares for you. Once you are clean and clear, you can see tremendous love falling on you from all dimensions.

The Good Tarot: THREE OR WATER – Celebration, enjoying community, sharing, exuberance, team spirit, friendship

Joy and excitement flow among all those gathered. I embrace being part of something larger than myself. It’s time to delight in camaraderie as I experience the greater whole that is my community and team. We buoy each other and play together as we co-create.  We are friends, family and companions, sharing our experiences. It is a time to remember we must accept each other as we are, with both shadow and light within.”

HO’OPONOPONO

Ho’oponopono is the powerful Hawaiian forgiveness prayer, which I have used for years. The Hawaiian word pono is defined as goodness, upright moral qualities, and correct or proper procedure. Ponopono means to put things in order; to make right. Many Polynesian cultures believed that a person’s errors, or not good qualities, caused illness; that these errors angered the gods, and the subsequent guilt made one sick. If the error was anger toward another, for instance, we would offer the prayer to forgive that person, thus forgiving ourself; in this way, we clean our subconscious mind so we can better see from a place of Divinity.

Ho’oponopono is all about healing ourself. The words of the prayer are:

I’m sorry. I love you. Please forgive me. Thank you

As a Hawaiian I loved the story of Dr. Hew Len, and the criminally insane ward of a Hawaii State Hospital. During the years of operation, all the doctors and therapists would give up, quit, because there was nothing they could do for these patients.

Dr. Len was hired, but he never saw even one patient. He would simple sit in his office and review a patients file and then say the ho’oponopono prayer, working on himself only.

After a few months, the patients who were shackled were allowed to walk freely, patients were taken off medications, and even the hopeless cases were eventually released back into society.

During the four years he was there, every criminally insane patient was healed. The staff loved their work, and all Dr. Len did was sit there and repeat the prayer over and over again.

Dr. Joe Vitale said that by using this potent forgiveness and releasing process, one is able to “clear your mind of subconscious blocks so that destiny and desire can take over and help you get what you truly want from life. It clears out unconsciously accepted beliefs, thoughts, and memories that you don’t even know are holding you back.”

I’m sorry.

I love you.

Please forgive me.

Thank you.

Every morning since I arrived in Todos Santos, a little over three months ago, the morning skies have been blue. This morning the skies are cloudy, as if preparing for rain. In my morning meditation, I savored my blessings, being here, in a lovely home, in a gated compound, so far away from the virus and unrest in the United States. In Seattle, on my birthday at the end of January, I asked Spirit: should I be living in the US now? NO! Should I move to Mexico? YES!! The decision was made. A week later my sons were driving the 4Runner down here, so Dad would have a car, to help me get settled. I arrived on February 17th. From the moment I landed, I knew it was the best thing I could have done; Mexico was an awesome gift to myself. Today it feels right to relax in my SUCCESS. To savor it. To take the time to FOCUS on my well-being, and ride this stable and serene energy wave correctly. FOUR OF AIR says its a time to rest, to meditate, and be at peace. To count my blessings; to allow in greater focus and clarity, while in this calm valley, so even greater success will arrive. Today is my time to stop, look, listen, smell, hear; to fully take in the world of my creation, here in Todos Santos, Mexico. I write more about “being where we should be,” below:

THE READING

The Elements Tarot:  FOCUS:

Centeredness, attentiveness. Ability to isolate awareness in order to perceive or evaluate information or energy.

REVERSED: Limited vision. Not seeing the whole of the process at work. Narrowness.

Osho Zen Tarot: 6 of Fire – SUCCESS:

Enjoy the peak while it lasts and then enjoy the valley when it comes. What is wrong with the valley? What is wrong with being low? It is a relaxation. A peak is an excitement, and nobody can exist continuously in an excitement.

“The greatest wisdom to keep in mind with all the phenomena in the parade of your life, whether they be valleys or peaks, is that ‘this too will pass.’ Celebrate, yes, and keep on riding the tiger.”

The Good Tarot: FOUR OF AIR: Healing, meditation, rest, recuperation.

“It’s time to rest my mind and allow peace to take the place of busyness and boredom. The mind needs quiet to think and find clarity. If I allow my mind to rest, I will have greater clarity and my mind will be sharpened. This is the time for a break. I need to take care of myself.”

WISDOM OF THE DAY

(from my book Zen Wisdom for the 21st Century)

When we step back and look at our life from a fresh perspective; from an open-minded overview of what we’re doing: our job, where we live, the stress of the struggle to “make it,” the relationships we’re in . . . we can ask, is this where I’m thriving? Is this where I’m encouraged, loved and supported, living an altruistic life?

Altruistic: unselfish, selfless, compassionate, kind, public-spirited; charitable, benevolent, beneficent, philanthropic, humanitarian; bounteous.

I read about a globetrotting high-level corporate executive who was robbed at gunpoint in her hotel room, and barely escaped with her life. At that moment she realized that all her achievements, her so-called success and wealth, wasn’t making her happy. Having escaped death, she had a second chance; a chance to choose a new life. She quit her corporate job and became a Buddhist nun in Bhutan, volunteering to help people in need. (altruistic) She wrote a book about how happy her life turned out to be.

We head down a path, maybe well thought out, or random, and we do what we need to do to get the job, get the promotions, meet the husband or wife, accumulate stuff, and then decide to hang in with it, the good and bad. After a while the head of truth starts popping up. Be honest. Tell the truth. I’m not all that happy. I’m not fulfilled. Maybe I could quit this life and choose another. Another job? Another town? Some time alone to learn to love myself?

This is when Courage checks in. Zen is about flowing with the river. But often we find ourselves stuck in the rapids of the wrong river. We get tired of fighting the current of that wrong river. This is when its time to ask,

Where should I be, to be, truly who I am?”

While the mind strives to make sense out of everything, Zen is the mindless, irrational; a non-sense “just do it,” make the right choice.

Standing on the cliff thirty feet above the pool, the “kids” are jumping and you’re thinking “no fucking way I’m jumping.”

Zen says, “Get out of your mind! JUMP!!!!”

Zen is the mindless jump into the unknown.

You don’t have to renounce your entire life. You can have a higher thought; to decide to do something you thoroughly enjoy. Right now. Today. Do what you love and happiness will follow.

In order to find your own inner success, your Divine Knowingness, you will need to journey into a realm of consciousness beyond what your parents expected of you, beyond society’s definition of success; to a place void of obeying others’ dogma and “should be/do” philosophies. A place to where you say, “Fuck it. This is where I want to be. This is what I want to be doing with my life. These are the people I want to be doing it with.” And so be it.

Letting go is your journey Home.

The Highway Shaman Wisdom Reading

for June 26, 2020

I’ve self isolated for nearly a year. Last August, for the six months following my brain injury, I was too sensitive to be around most people. Any mental, emotional or physical challenge greatly upset me. I chose to go within, to heal all three; which I feel I’ve accomplished. At the same time, I miss having conversations with like-minded friends. The thought of having a companion, the day to day enjoyment of another’s energy and company, came up.

I’ve been writing novels for 18 years and for most of those years my desire was to have them published or turned into TV series’. They would be successful and I would have the means to afford a decent living for myself and possibly a companion, perhaps a love interest. I’ve come to realize that money isn’t or shouldn’t be a factor. Regardless, I concluded, now in my elder years, that living a life without emotional ups and downs, has made me happy and at peace. Is this true? This morning I had the thought of being in a love relationship and I drew the DESIRE card, reversed. It reminded me that I am a powerful creator, and in this area I have “unclear or inconsistent intentions.”

And then I drew the CLINGING TO THE PAST card, appropriately, it reads, “It is time to face up to the fact that the past is gone, and any effort to repeat it is a sure way to stay stuck in old blueprints that you would have already outgrown if you hadn’t been so busy clinging to what you have already been through. Take a deep breath, put the box down, tie it up in a pretty ribbon if you must, and bid it a fond and reverent farewell. Life is passing you by, and you’re in danger of becoming an old fossil before your time.”  Yikes !

And, also appropriately, the answer came in the next card, PAGE OF WATER; for me to open my heart, to be innocent and curious, to be willing to begin anew with intimacy and relationships; to be playful with cheerful optimism.

THE READING

The Elements Tarot: DESIRE: Focusing the mind and emotions on a specific objective. Pulling for a wanted condition or outcome.

REVERSED: Lack of continued focus on a specific result. Unclear or inconsistent intention.

Osho Zen Tarot: 5 of Water – CLINGING TO THE PAST:

These tenses – past, present and future – are not the tenses of time; they are tenses of the mind. That which is no longer before the mind becomes the past. That which is before the mind is the present. And that which is going to be before the mind is the future. Past is that which is no longer before you. Future is that which is not yet before you. And present is that which is before you and is slipping out of your sight. Soon it will be past . . .  If you don’t cling to the past . . . because clinging to the past is absolute stupidity. It is no longer there, so you are crying over spilled milk. What is gone is gone! And don’t cling to the present because that is also going and soon it will be past. Don’t cling to the future – hopes, imaginations, plans for tomorrow – because tomorrow will become today, will become yesterday. Everything is going to become yesterday. Everything is going to go out of your hands. Clinging will simply create misery. You will have to let it go.

“It is time to face up to the fact that the past is gone, and any effort to repeat it is a sure way to stay stuck in old blueprints that you would have already outgrown if you hadn’t been so busy clinging to what you have already been through. Take a deep breath, put the box down, tie it up in a pretty ribbon if you must, and bid it a fond and reverent farewell. Life is passing you by, and you’re in danger of becoming an old fossil before your time.”

The Good Tarot:

PAGE OF WATER – Openheartedness, Innocence and curiosity, beginning of intimacy and relationships, playfulness, cheerful optimism

“I open my hear fully, allowing myself to feel childlike wonder and innocence. All adventures lead me to where I need to go. Love awaits! Life is a delightful dance, and I am here to frolic and play. I am ready with a big smile, and I have on my dancing shoes.”
